Not only when it's wet though, just at random. And often times it accompanies a loss of power-steering. My fuel gauge does the same thing you described above also...the lowest I've ever let it run (well below E) still resulted in only ~16.5 gallons to fill it up. Weird to think that it's never had less than 2.5 gal in the tank, but piece of mind I guess. I'd rework the guages, but given the current state of my Z I'd rather spend on something with a greater benefit for the cost =/
